This is a sorting activity that can follow a less on the suffix "less" and "ful." Students look at base words and determine which suffix to put the base word under. They will discover that some base words can go with both suffixes. After sorting, students record their work on the recording sheet and create a definition.
These questions were created for my students to fill out as they read the book Sailing for the Gold: Klondike Kid. Students spent two weeks in literature circles and were typically asked to read one chapter out loud together and then read one chapter independently. They follow the same routine each day so they only had to learn the routine one day and were set for two weeks. The questions are self created so they range from text based to inferential questions. My students were expected to answer
This is a sorting activity that allows students to practice finding pairs of homophones. Students find two words that sound the same and place them under the two headers (word 1 and word 2). They verbally use the words in a sentence and check each other's understanding. After they've found the homophones, they record their work on a recording sheet and create definitions for the words.
Attached is a one page homework assignment that supports students' understanding of quadrilaterals.
Students are asked to identify attributes of a quadrilateral, identify quadrilaterals in an assortment of shapes, and then find the perimeter of a quadrilateral (review from our last unit)
This is a powerpoint that I quickly made to teacher my 3rd graders what a parallelogram is.
Included in the powerpoint is a cut, sort, and glue activity with shapes that are considered parallelograms and not parallelograms. (I think teach this shape before rect, squares, and rhombuses)
Slides 1-3 are meant to be used whole class and the last two slides are meant for independent work.
(I also have uploaded a gen. ed and modified homework to supplement this lesson)
This is a sorting activity that can follow a lesson on the suffix "ly" and "y." Students look at base words and determine which suffix to put the base word under. They will discover that some base words can go with both suffixes (create a middle shared column). After sorting, students record their work on the recording sheet and create a definition.
This worksheet is great to use with rounding to nearest ten. I taught the kids to use the same number line for any number by adding the tens place in front of the 1-9 digits already on the number line.
It worked great for all my students!
This worksheet has students practicing time using the words "after" and "past." It is best used after students have mastered telling time to the nearest minute.

Experience
This is now my 4th year teaching. I have been teaching third grade for 2 years and taught 4th grade prior to that.
Teaching style
I love to make learning fun. I dedicate MANY countless hours to this profession. My weekends consist of searching and creating fun activities and lessons for the kids!
My own education history
I obtained my undergraduate degree in economics and management. I worked in an accounting field for a couple of years which I didn't feel suited me. I decided to get a masters in elementary education and become a teacher. I now do what I love!
