This is a quick 7 problem quiz I used as a check in for area. It covers the following: basic area using squares, area without squares, area of larger rectangles where students need to use distributive property, area of compound shapes, and one word problem.

This assessment was created to measure my student's understanding of different concepts related to geometry (aligned to the common core). I gave this assessment as a post test to check their understanding from the unit. The following concepts are included in the assessment: -understanding of polygons -characteristics of quadrilaterals -identification of solid shapes -understanding of slides, flips, and turns -symmetry

There are three different sets / levels of world problems for students to work on it. They are challenging and require students to apply critical thinking skills to understand the problem and attack it! This is meant to use after students have a strong understanding of area and perimeter. My students love challenging word problems!
