About the store
For 10 years, I taught Art mostly at the elementary level, but a few years after completing my Masters in School Counseling, I moved to the school counselor world and have been loving it. I started as a school counselor for 6th graders in 2012, and moved to the high school world in 2023. I appreciate how the role allows me to grow both my heart and my craving for all things systems and organization at the same time. I care most about helping students feel empowered, heard and hopeful.

Teaching style

I try to keep things practical, interactive, and engaging. Surprises- like humor, out of the ordinary strategies, or just plain being silly from time to time never hurt!

Awards & shining teacher moments

2009 Teacher of the Year for Rosa Parks Elementary (as Art Teacher) and 2017 Teacher of the Year for Perry Meridian Sixth Grade Academy (as Counselor)

My own education history

B.S. Art Education K-12 from Ball State Universtiy and M.S. School Counseling from Butler University
