About the store
As a Language Arts and Math teacher with 19+ years experience, I have taught elementary, middle, and high school levels. My focus is on ESL students, or English Learners, so my materials tend to work best for kids who need extra scaffolding to learn. In particular, these are made with middle and high school students in mind--those that struggle with reading, writing and are reading below grade level. Teacher Trainer: For eight years I coached new and experienced teachers at the district level. I am well versed on how to set up routines. build structures and develop relationships in the classroom. These are key to producing good behavior in the classroom! My experiences co-teaching led me to scaffold and differentiate other's lessons to make them accessible for English Learners, Special Education students, and other students who don't learn the "traditional" way. Working in a large school district in Northern Virginia, I've been a curriculum writer for the county in these subject areas: English, ESL (English Learners), Math and Social Studies/World History for grades 4-10.

Teaching style

Building relationships with students and engaging them in learning is the key. I differentiate lessons all day long, every day. My students make connections to their learning, they use technology daily in lessons, and they enjoy coming to my class even though I push them to learn a lot!
