This is my companion for the second chapter of Tanny McGregor’s Comprehension Connections. It will not substitute her delightful book. For each of my lessons, I make a Powerpoint and anchor charts. I put the anchor charts on my white board and we write on them I also have the large anchor chart printed to make a neat poster. What could be more difficult than explaing compound and complex sentences to your students. This unit explains dependent clauses, independent clauses and their connection to coordinating conjunctions and subordinate conjunctions.
