Have students cut apart and put their names on their passes during the first days of school. This gives them ten opportunities to go to the bathroom. Unredeemed passes can earn up to 100 extra credit points. I have my students keep them in an envelope or sandwich baggie.

This activity uses 8 quotes from Lil' Wayne to demonstrate how dialogue can be used to reveal character traits and how character traits can be contradictory at times. I use this as a mini-lesson/activity on a day where they students will be analyzing dialogue. Students are asked to read and analyze their quotes and guess which celebrity may have said the quote. This works well for small groups.
