This is a small collection of family-themed vocabulary cards for your word wall. Each card features a picture and a word to help your students identify, read, and write family-related vocabulary.
I realize that families can take different shapes and I have not tried to cover all of the variety of forms that family may take. Instead, I have included the most common words associated with immediate family members.

This pack includes 4 cut-and-glue sorting activities to help your students practice identifying the lowercase letters b and d.
The first two activities are lowercase letter sorts – one with all of the letters in the same font, one featuring a variety of fonts.
The third activity is a word sort, featuring words that begin with lowercase b or d.
The fourth activity is a picture sort, for students to identify the beginning sound of each picture and match it to the correct letter, either b or d.

This is a set of activities for your students to practice reading and spelling CVC words. The pack includes 45 matching pairs of CVC word and picture cards with directions for playing CVC Memory/Matching, and 20 worksheets targeting CVC word fluency in different ways. The game can be used in small group instruction or as a small group activity in a literacy center. The practice sheets can be printed in color or grayscale, and used as homework, morning work, or spelling and reading practice.
Picture Dictionaries are great resources for both your classroom library and your students' writing folders. They love seeing their work become a classroom resource! Using this template, students can create their own Picture Dictionaries or contribute to a class book. It can be used as part of your beginning sound study, or your students can continue to add to it throughout the year.

I created this weather chart to use in my kindergarten classroom during our daily calendar time. The chart features six types of weather that are most common during the school year in my part of New England: sunny, foggy, snowy, rainy, cloudy, and partly cloudy. Every day, my students and I read the question at the top of the chart ("What is the weather today?") and decide how to answer.
