The first two activities are lowercase letter sorts – one with all of the letters in the same font, one featuring a variety of fonts.
The third activity is a word sort, featuring words that begin with lowercase b or d.
The fourth activity is a picture sort, for students to identify the beginning sound of each picture and match it to the correct letter, either b or d.

At our school, first graders are expected to read for 10 minutes every day as part of their homework. I created this Monday-Thursday reading log because my students had a hard time keeping track of long-term logs, not to mention filling in the tiny boxes on them.
