I have taught in one of the country's largest public school districts for the past ten years. I taught first grade for three years, fourth grade for two years, and third grade for five years. I have experience teaching a nine month calendar as well as a year round schedule with five tracks. I also have extensive knowledge of the RTI process for both intervention and acceleration.

This interactive PowerPoint lesson is just about the calendar! It is not connected to other math standards. It explicitly teaches the structure of a calendar, what a calendar measures, days of the week, and months of the year. It explains how to determine what day a certain date will fall on and what date the third or fourth Wednesday will be. It also explains how to read the date and write it in both words and numbers. This is a great lesson to take students through all of the properties of multiplication in a way they can understand and enjoy! This presentation includes all 5 of the multiplication properties. It defines and gives examples of each of the properties. Student participate in the presentation using white boards or paper pencil. My own education history
I have of BA in educational instruction and a MA in curriculum and instruction. I received my BA from UNLV and my MA from UOP. I have taken numerous PD courses in many subject areas, as I am always looking to explore new options in the field of education.
Additional biographical information
I live in Las Vegas and teach in a low socio-economic area of the city. My family has lived in Las Vegas for over twenty years. My husband and I have been married for twenty-seven years and have two children. My son and daughter are currently both attending UNLV. I truly enjoy my career and constantly seek ways to improve my teaching and engage my students. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and football season! The Denver Broncos are my team, as we are originally from Colorado.
