About the store

This will be my 20th year as a teacher. I have taught grades 4-6 primarily. My focus has been on fifth and sixth grade math and reading. I am a gifted intervention specialist and regular gen ed classroom teacher.

The sets cover the following: Ratios Rates/Unit Rates Measurement Proportions These problems are a great resource for leveled practice or differentiation within your classroom! Once I teach the concept, I split my kids into levels (mild, medium, spicy) based on their pretest as well as classroom observation. I then pass out the leveled problem

Experience

Teaching style

I have very high expectations for my students and implement those through challenging and rigorous tasks that align with the common core. I am very hands on and focus on interactive ideas in my classroom. I integrate 21st century skills as much as possible in order to help my students learn!

I have been nominated 3 years for Barnes and Noble Teacher of the Year award by past students, which has been a great honor as well as Ohio Teacher of the Year.

My own education history

I graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Math, Reading and Language Arts. I then obtained my Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University in Gifted Education. I also have my endorsement in Social Studies and Science and just finished my Doctorate in k-12 leadership.
