If your students are like mine, they struggle with lab reports. So I created a basic one with directions for each section. My plan is on the first day of school to do a basic lab with my class and they will manually fill out their first lab report. This could be used as an intro to Population Ecology and exponential growth. I adapted some material I found online to fit my classroom. By stimulating the students with $$ we can peak their curiosity of how populations can show exponential growth. Includes data table and graph.
This lab allows the student to see how well a crystal can form under various conditions such as temperature, saturation and stirring. Written for an easy class, but can be modified to make it more difficult for upper grade levels. Gets the students thinking about the scientific method and looking for evidence to support their answers.
