I have been teaching in public schools since 2005. The students that I teach range from special education to gifted and talented. I have also worked for a Community College teaching developmental math to adults. While the majority of my time has been spent teaching Pre-Algebra and Algebra in middle school, I have also worked with students in general seventh and eighth grade math.

Carnival Probability Project
In this multi-week project, students will design, create and play carnival games while finding the experimental and theoretical probability of the games. Students will present the final game at a carnival with a written report of what was learned throughout the process. This is a great end of the year activity for students.

Probability Project: March Madness
In this project, student will use their data analysis skills to research each teams' chance of winning the NCAA Tournament. Students will also use probability to fill in their own brackets for the tournament. This lesson is a fun way to incorporate March Madness into the math classroom.

Experience
I have been teaching in public schools since 2005. The students that I teach range from special education to gifted and talented. Teaching style
My style is primarily inquiry-based, with a focus on creating a student-centered environment. I utilize a variety of teaching styles throughout the school year, based on the content and needs of the students. Collaboration is a consistent strategy in my classes, as students work in groups to complete a number of tasks and projects.
My own education history
B.S. and M.Ed in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Math, Reading, and Social Studies from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
