This is a quick worksheet that explains the story of Archimedes and the crown problem. There are followup questions afterward to reinforce the concept of the principle and bouyancy. Answers are included.

This is my lecture of simple machines. It is an introductory lesson with animation, drawings, and examples. It ends with a lesson on Mechanical Advantage. The demo will help give an idea of how the animation works.

This is a lab that has little maintenance and can be done easily. This lab describes plating a washer or any iron object in copper from pennies. There can be a couple of variations done at once like using a battery or not and of course the amount of pennies. Included with the lab is a cover sheet of tips and suggestions for the lab, answer sheet, and pictures of the lab and results. I have about 20 labs in this format and will either post them or have a disc that can be sent.

This lab is designed to be used with the Hot Wheels type track and cars. I am sure that any ramp with a rolling object would suffice also. This contains the three laws of motion as I present it in class. Velocity, acceleration, and momentum is covered before this powerpoint. Gravity is covered in a way that I think is pertty good for a 9th grade level.I also have included an example of how all three laws can be applied to any senario. A the end I clear up the difference between a law and a theory.

This is a lab that involves measuring the density of pennies made in two eras. It is a great lab to have kids practice measuring skills and to talk about displacement. This lab comes with tips and pointers plus a makeup sheet for those who were absent the day of the lab. This is yet another lab of about 20 that I have and all of them on a disc to be sent.

This is a puzzle where the students mach letters to the numbers and then decode the answers to the jokes on the back. It is corny and fun for the students while they are lerning or reviewing termonology.

This is a worksheet that has a velocity and an acceleration graph with questions. The questions go with eath graph. This is an important skill since a lot of standardized tests has reading graph questions.
