It doesn't seem possible, but I have been teaching for 9 years! I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher in an extended day setting. I taught Kindergarten for 2 years. The other 7 years I have been in a first grade classroom. My first 4 years of teaching were in an extended day school in a major city. My last 5 years, I have been in teaching in a suburban school district.

Growth Mindset: Set Individualized Reading Goals for Students
Make time at the beginning of each week to set a goal or two with each student during guided reading groups. Students will be accountable and know their goal. Plus, they get feedback and know when they have reached their goal. Teachers meet and have proof of achieving Danielson Framework Excellent category.

Behavior Management Think Sheets and Communication
These behavior management graphic organizers allow students to take ownership of their choices. They also provide an opportunity for students to decide how they could make better choices in the future. The think sheet provides a home-school connection by having a parent signature line. I hope these will be as effective for your students as they are for mine.

Experience

Teaching style
I would say that I am "serious" about making sure all of my students grow and meet their goals. I focus on creating a strong classroom community and structured routines, so that my students feel safe to learn, grow, and explore their thinking.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I have been honored to speak at several Professional Development sessions within my district. I am also happy to be serving on my district's Language Arts Committee as well as the School Improvement Team.
I have been awarded the "90% Growth" award from my previous school. This award was given to me for having 90% of my students grow a year and a half according to their NWEA MAP scores.
