Students are asked to find a card and color it to match on the recording sheet, testing their observation and coloring skills. As a first grade teacher in a low socio-economic setting, I often had a very skewed classroom spectrum of students who could read, struggled

Teach the history of Kwanzaa and its meaning with this original student book. Students will interact with the story using crayons or colored pencils to "light" their kinara. Teaching style

Every year I am growing and changing, adapting to the needs of my class. I use a variety of approaches and try to differentiate as much as possible. I teach my math using a rotation schedule meeting with a high, medium, and low group daily and I supplement my reading basal with an additional readers' workshop. My self-paced spelling sight word program helps me to differentiate and push my students to be better readers and writers.

My own education history
