Use this template for students to practice surveying, collecting data, creating a picture graph and then analyzing their graphs. You can use this whole group with the same question or differentiate by having students create their own question. This practice is created with "I can.." statements within the directions. Enjoy!
Measurement can be tough for students especially when comparing inches and centimeters. I use this activity with my students to make measuring fun. Students may need rulers, yardsticks, or tape measures. I first have my students measure their arms, head, legs feet, and hands in inches. Then when we learn about centimeters, the students go back and measure in centimeters. Don't forget to measure their height too! I use this blank diagram to help teach my students about qualities of a diagram. I teach about how a diagram must include a title, labels, and a picture (illustration or photograph). Using this product, students are able to create their own title and labels for their diagrams. I also include a brace map on the back for students to identify the title of their own diagram and the label they choose.
