This is a fun activity to follow up the study of food chains! Students are given one of the four food chain sheets, they decipher the correct order of the chain, cut and paste on a piece of construction paper. Because there are 4 different chains, I have students share with one another after they have completed their chain. Once finished, it can be used for assessment. I hang them on my classroom wall.
These vocabulary cards are used in my ecosystem unit. The words include ecosystem, habitat, interdependence, camouflage, prey, predator, biotic factors, abiotic factors, herbivore, carnivore, omnivore, producer, consumer, decomposer, endangered, extinct, and mimicry. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curri

I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curriculum guide. These cards are also sold as part of a set called Energy Unit Vocabulary Cards including all three units
These vocabulary cards are used in my Earth, Moon, and Sun Unit. The words include rotation, apparent motion, revolution, orbit, hemisphere, crater, phases, new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, waning crescent, tides, lunar eclipse, solar eclipse, telescope, satellite, comet, asteroid, and constellation. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or h

These vocabulary cards are used in my minerals, rocks, and soil unit. The words include geology, minerals, texture, lusters, effervescence, streak, sedimentary rock, sediment, metamorphic rock, igneous rock, weathering, erosion, deposition, conglomerate, organic, humus, topsoil, subsoil, pore spaces, and permeability. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have
These vocabulary cards are used for my heat unit. The words include heat, conduction, convection, radiation, insulators, conductors, and thermometer. Each card contains a definition and a picture. This fun activity I complete with my students during my ecosystem unit. After our discussion of producers, consumers and decomposers, I pass out the worksheets. Students work with a partner to classify, cut and paste the pictures onto the chart. When all have finished, I have groups come to the smartboard and drag a picture into the appropriate column. You could also do the drag activity first and then pick up the cut and paste activity for assessment. The kids really enjoy it. It's not to
This unit comes with:
1. Smartboard slide show (37 slides) that supplements the information learned during the unit. Topics covered are: types of ecosystems, abiotic and biotic factors, predators, prey, producers, consumers, and decomposers, food chains, food web, adaptations, and life cycles. There are links in the show for food chain games, adaptation games, and life cycle games. I typed the show using the font Happy Sans. If you do not have that font, you can copy the font from the file you h
These vocabulary cards are used for my sound, light, and heat units. All three sets are sold seperately on TPT. If you would like a preview, you can look them up seperately and view. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curriculum guide.
These vocabulary cards are used for my Respiratory and Circulatory Systems Unit. The words include lungs, heart, respiratory system, trachea, bronchi, alveoli, diaphragm, epiglottis, circulatory system, veins, arteries, capillaries, pulmonary artery, pulmonary vein, red blood cells, and white blood cells. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write o
This digital resource has 24 organisms to be identified as a producer, consumer or decomposer. If the student answers correctly, part of the mystery picture will appear. If answered incorrectly, nothing will appear and they will have to try again. I use this as a fun review during my ecosystem unit after covering food chains and food webs. Because the mystery picture is rather large, this works best when the computer screen is at 75 or 50%.
These vocabulary cards are used in my plant unit. The words include germination, radicle, cotyledons, seedling, monocotyledon (monocots), dicotyledons (dicots), tap root, fibrous root, conifer, cutting, pollination, photosynthesis, chlorophyll, stomata, respiration, tuber, bulb, pistil, and stamen . Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out voc
These vocabulary cards are used in my Food and Nutrition unit. The words include MyPyramid, food group, Nutrition Facts Label, cholesterol, dietary fiber, balanced diet, serving size, and a card that matches food groups to their nutrients. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curriculum guide.
These vocabulary cards are used in my Climate and Seasons Unit. The words include humidity, relative humidity, dew point, cloud formation, cirrus clouds, cumulous clouds, stratus clouds, climate, axis, elevation, and seasons. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curriculum guide.
Students will determine whether a scenario is weathering, erosion or deposition. They will type their answer in the box. If they answer correctly, part of the mystery picture will appear. If answered incorrectly, nothing will appear and they will have to try again. I like to use this during my Earth Changes Unit as a review.
These vocabulary cards are used in my Earth's Forces Unit. The words include weathering, erosion, physical weathering, chemical weathering, deposition, continental plates, fault, earthquake, fault-block mountain, plateau, folds, folded mountain, volcano, eruption, tornado, hurricane, landslide, and avalanche. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them wri
This is a digital product that uses Google Sheets. Students will have to determine if the scenario they have been given is an example of a physical or chemical change. If the student answers correctly, part of the mystery picture will appear. If answered incorrectly, nothing will appear and they may try again. There are 20 scenarios. Great for extra practice, homework or science stations. This product works best if the screen is at 75 or 50%.
Students will determine whether an item is a renewable or non-renewable resource. If students answer correctly, part of the mystery picture will appear. If incorrect, students can try again. There are 15 items. This product works best with screen size at 50%. I like to use this as a fun review of resources.
In this digital resource, students will determine whether an animal is an omnivore, carnivore or herbivore. If answered correctly, part of the mystery picture will appear. If answered incorrectly, nothing will appear. I use this during my ecosystem unit. It is not a standard in my curriculum, but after discussing food chains, I like to reinforce these terms and the students really enjoy mystery pictures.
