This Power Point walks through using the distributive property to solve 2 digit by 1 digit and 3 digit by 1 digit multiplication problems. With each mouse click, the next step in the process is revealed. There are 4 slides which demonstrate the process using arrays. The four examples with arrays are all 2 digits multiplied by 1 digit. This is an activity in which students find the factors of 1-24 using cookie cereal to make arrays to assist them. They complete a chart as they find each factor. After finding the factors or 1-24, there is a sheet in which they identify the prime and composite numbers. There are also practice finding factors worksheets included. I created this activity as an alternative to the Core Curriculum Unit 2 Activity 4. I've used it in my classroom and it worked very well.
