In my self-contained regular education 8th grade class, I find that if students have the opportunity to make up missed problems, they really learn a lot. Free! Back to School - Find Someone Who

This is a great back to school activity. Students go around the room and look for students who fit each category. It is great because students really have to talk to each other to figure out the answers. I tell my students they must use everyone's name once before they repeat. I use this when I loop with a class and have most of the same students. It allows students to learn something new about classmates they know well and have known for a long time.
