In this activity, you will take the poem "Casey at the Bat" and analyze each stanza. It can be used as a whole group, small group, or individual activity depending on how the teacher wants to use it. It is designed to be used before a first cold read. For differentiation purposes, the questions for some stanzas are more difficult than others.
This is a powerpoint presentation on Proportional and Non-proportional Relationships. It shows how to look at words, equations, tables, and graphs to determine whether a relationship is proportional or not.
This product contains a very diverse card sort activity. The entire card sort is made up of matching the words, equation, table, graph, and constant of proportionality. You can differentiate by using only table and graphs, or words, table and graph or however it fits your needs. You can also just put each card in main category of proportional or non-proportional. This is an activity that allows students to work together. It is focused around the short story "The Circuit." It can be incorporated in a unit of similar themes, characters, or stories. The story is included. I used this as a pre-reading exercise. I have students to complete the questions before reading the story. There is a word search with key at end of lesson - this is usually how I start the lesson. The key to the word search also includes definitions. The activity could take 1-3 days
