I hope you can use my Upper Elementary Homework Policy letter. I find that letters going home at the beginning of the year that outline your expectations in your classroom are extremely helpful. This allows both students and parents to have a clear understanding of how things will run in your classroom. I have left this as a Word Document that you can edit to your liking, but this will give you a definite starting point. Perfect to have for Back to School, which is just around the corner!
This is a fun game that allows students to build their vocabulary and to practice trickery with one another to earn points and win the game! Students love to play this game and to not only guess the correct definition but to also get others to pick theirs.
Included in this package are directions and expectations to create a math board game based on the various units throughout the school year. This is an excellent activity to work on the week after state assessments and allows the students to review in a fun way. I have also included a rubric!
This is an explanation letter to parents and students of my classroom discipline plan. I have left it as a Word document so that you can edit and change things around some to suit your needs. This is an excellent resource for a new (or even a veteran) teacher to articulate your classroom expectations and consequences.
