Students write a formal letter to their favorite local business. Included is a Google Slide presentation for teaching, an example for students to analyze, a rubric, and a graphic organizer. Teaching notes and suggestions are in the speaker notes. CC.1.4.6:Writing: Students write for different purposes and audiences. Students write clear and focused text to convey a well-defined perspective and appropriate content.

This project is really great for more advanced students that are able to dive deeper into the study of the regions of the United States. Students answer the essential question: "What makes a location significant?" Students choose at least one tourist attraction/location per region to add to a Google Slide Show. This works really well in combination with study of the regions of the United States. Students worked on this project during any free time/as an early finisher project to go along with ou
