This lesson will show students how they can change the world for the better by spreading kindness. Links are included to the various songs and clips to aid in student understanding of the epigraph. Show the epigraph before reading each part of the book, then revisit the epigraph after reading to analyze how each epigraph relates to each character in the book. In my classroom, we used KidBlog for this analysis.

I use this color coding guideline when I teach Narrative Writing. Typically, my students type their drafts in Google Docs, so it is very easy for them to highlight the specific parts. These guidelines would also work for handwritten drafts, but you would need to make sure you have the different colored highlighters available.
