The games of “Guess What” is modeled after the classic games of Guess Who and Hedbanz. It is a 2 player game (that can be modified for 3 players) where players take turns asking yes and no questions to isolate a graph. The first player to guess the other player’s graph wins! Similarity refers to figures that are the same size and same shape. We can use proportions and similar figures to predict the height of objects in photographs. For this mini project, you are to take a digital picture of yourself standing next to a TALL object. (It is preferable that you take the picture next to something you can NOT measure the height of.) My philosophy of teaching is to find different ways for students to learn. I believe it is important to show students that math does apply to the "real world" and that yes, indeed, math can be fun.
