Often students are asked to participate in fundraising to support their school and/or organizations, but how do those organizations set goals for selling? In this activity, students will use their knowledge of graphing systems of inequalities (or linear programming) to propose fundraising goals. Scatterplot, Point Slope Form, Slope Intercept Form: Fast Food Activity
In this activity, students will analyze calories and fat fast food sandwiches. They will collect data, create a scatterplot, and generate a line of best fit. Then they will use this information to create equations in Slope Intercept Form and Point Slope Form. The equations will be used for making predictions and inferences. Teaching style
My philosophy of teaching is to find different ways for students to learn. I believe it is important to show students that math does apply to the "real world" and that yes, indeed, math can be fun.
