In this technology based activity, students will use Desmos.com to gain understanding of writing equations of lines in Point Slope Form and finding Domain and Range. Students are given a link to a Desmos shooting star design which has been made with tables. They are asked to find the equation of each line used to make the design. Envelope activities are a great way for students to get practice without having the feel of a drill and practice worksheet. Students can work in groups or individually. My philosophy of teaching is to find different ways for students to learn. I believe it is important to show students that math does apply to the "real world" and that yes, indeed, math can be fun.
