This PowerPoint gives students the opportunity to view different animals and plants. They also are able to interact with the PowerPoint by choosing what an animal looks like and what a plant looks like. The PowerPoint challenges students to think about the different characteristics of plants and animals.

In this interactive STEM lesson, students explore what plants need to survive and apply that knowledge by designing and building a model habitat for a seed in a harsh environment. Using teamwork and the engineering design process, they’ll create, test, and reflect on their plant habitat models while recording observations in a science journal. This hands-on activity blends life science, engineering, and critical thinking in a fun and meaningful way.

This activity will help students who may be struggling with the break up of syllables. The students will write the word, find the syllables (two), and put a dot in between the first and second syllables of the word. Students will then blend the word back together.

This is a collection of children's literature that portrays diverse perspectives. You can print the story's title, picture, summary, and activity suggestion all out on a 5x7 index card to keep for filing, easy lesson ideas, or quick reference.
