About the store

Experience

I have 31 years teaching in Virginia public schools. My experience is in 2nd grade, 6th, 7th and 8th grade mathematics, Algebra 1, and Geometry. I have my master's degree in curriculum and instruction and my mathematics specialist certification.

Teaching style

I really like using products that provide immediate feedback. That way I can find out right away which students need more help and I can assist them immediately. I try not to use worksheets. I would rather turn the basic worksheet into a pixel art, boom cards, scavenger hunt, task cards, whodunnit, or other fun assignment.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My students consistently score high on state tests. I was awarded the teacher of the year for the 2022-2023 school year for my school and the county where I teach.

My own education history

My bachelor's degree is in elementary education prek-8. My master's degree is in curriculum and instruction and math specialist prek-8. I have my Algebra 1 certification. I am highly qualified in middle school mathematics.

Additional biographical information

I am married with three children. My youngest just graduated high school with an associate's degree and is currently pursuing his career. My two older children are off on their own, enjoying their careers. My favorite things to do are to create math activities, go to the beach, and read books.
