Teach - Think - Create

This activity can be used as seat work, a partner game, or as an early finisher activity. It requires no prep. All you need is a copy of the workmat and a paperclip! There are 5 workmats in this download. Directions: The students will use the paperclip to create a spinner with their pencil. They will spin twice and subtract the two numbers they landed on in the boxes below the spinner. Repeat until the workmat is filled up!

This activity is a twist on the standard task card. While other task cards have students read and answer questions over and over, this activity allows for students to "poke" their pencil through the answer choice they think is correct. These cards are CCGPS aligned and will be a great addition to your classroom as they are a spiral review for your 3rd grade learners. This is a fun game to practice multiplication fact fluency using Product 36. Product 36 is a proven strategy using in China to help students learn their multiplication facts 2's - 9's. Because multiplication is commutative, the facts need to be learned are essentially cut in half. Ex: Because you learn 2 x 9 when learning the 2's facts, you already know 9 x 2 when you get to the 9's facts! That is one less fact to learn!
