Easy Freebie - Exploring 2D Shapes
This Microsoft Word Template can be used in a lesson integrating Maths and ICT. Students insert the correct shapes from the tool bar. They then type how many sides and angles each shape has. I also allow my students to play with the format of their shapes. They then create a picture or design using different polygons.
To add their name to the header, students double click on the header. To then return to the body of the page, they double click on the body.

This Microsoft Word Template can be used in a lesson integrating Maths and ICT. Students rotate the images to fit the column headings. The images are original clipart created by me, and are not to be repackaged or sold.
If you would like to change anti-clockwise to counter clockwise, simply change them on the document and then save as a document template.

This document template can be used for students to explore different fonts and sizes. It is great for grades K-2 and provides opportunity for discussion around effective texts for different purposes. Students change the text in the document to demonstrate: fonts they like, fonts that are easy to read, fonts that are difficult to read and different font sizes. The document can then be saved and printed out.

I have eleven years teaching experience across grades Pre-K to 6. I currently teach in Australia, but have also taught in the USA.
Teaching style
I am easily inspired and love to find ways to improve learning for my students using a variety of strategies and ideas. My goal is to remain a flexible teacher, taking on board the new things I learn and modifying my practices as necessary. I am passionate about using technology to support students in becoming literate and numerate. Wherever possible I differentiate tasks to suit the varied needs of students in my class. I like to find and create resources that really get kids thinking, and can be easily modified to suit new situations.
