Comparing and Measuring Mass
These tasks are designed to provide an opportunity for students to explore the measurement of mass. They involve the use of video cameras to record and reflect on experiences, thus integrating ICT. They are aligned with the Australian Curriculum for Year 2.

Mini Place Value Books
These miniature books can be used by students to develop their understanding of place value by recognising, writing, modelling and ordering numbers.
A variety of miniature books have been provided to cater for the varied needs of students in Grades K-3. Slight adaptations have been made for each grade level such that:
• Kindergarten students can focus on numbers 0-20
• Grade 1 students can focus on 2-digit numbers (2 variations - one with bundles, one with abacus)

These tasks are designed to help students to consider how one number fact is related to another number fact. It is one way for students to brainstorm in Mathematics lessons and works as a warm-up activity or task for fast finishers. It is ideal for students who require further challenge as it is open ended and provides opportunities for students to explore their own thinking. It can be used throughout the year on multiple occasions.

Experience
I have eleven years teaching experience across grades Pre-K to 6. I currently teach in Australia, but have also taught in the USA.
Teaching style
I am easily inspired and love to find ways to improve learning for my students using a variety of strategies and ideas. My goal is to remain a flexible teacher, taking on board the new things I learn and modifying my practices as necessary. I am passionate about using technology to support students in becoming literate and numerate. Wherever possible I differentiate tasks to suit the varied needs of students in my class. I like to find and create resources that really get kids thinking, and can be easily modified to suit new situations.
