My students are currently working on subtraction and I am always looking for fun ways for them to practice the skill. I got some shape punches from the Target dollar section recently and realized they could punch out the shape, glue them to match the number, then subtract by crossing out the matching number and write the answer. This will help them gain beneficial fine motor practice, coordination, plus good ol' count and match the number time.

Spring is in the air and it is the perfect time to practice 2 skills – counting and identifying the matching number OR for those high fliers, counting and then counting on.
