I Am A Scientist is a resource designed to introduce students to real, authentic science researchers. They are diverse, so all student can see representations of themselves in scientists. This worksheet guides students to explore three of the twenty-two people. The assignment can be done again and again. My science department uses it as emergency sub. plans. It is great as part of a Nature of Science unit, for extensions, or to offer students when they are ahead or you need a filler class.

This basic worksheet compliments the Infographic created by scientist Kathyrn Everson. A lot of the public just does not understand how professional science works. I started my middle and high school classes with this experience and it was very helpful. Enjoy!
Spectroscopy is how we know what elements are in stars. This lab is awesome connecting students to how star science works. It also makes spectroscopy real in chemistry class, physics, astronomy, and general science about the electromagnetic spectrum. My students loved this activity solo and over Zoom. They felt that they learned how we use spectroscopy and have a deeper understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum. This activity is an online simulation version of Star Spectroscopy/Electromagn
How far are stars from Earth? In this activity, students find the distances of stars and create a model to visualize those distances!
