About the store
I am in the midst of my 16th year as a fifth grade teacher! I still wake up happy each day and absolutely love my job! I am invigorated by the students as well as by an amazing teaching team and a highly collaborative school climate!
I have written a classroom management program titled, "Confidence and Achievement Go Hand in Hand" which I've been presenting at various professional conferences and schools. I am currently writing a workbook to accompany this program that will eventually be available in my TPT Store!
I am also presenting a motivational program that I wrote for the business community titled, "Find Your Fuel". While working on the workbook to accompany this program, I realized that it is also highly valuable for educators. This will also eventually be available in my TPT Store!
Prior to teaching fifth grade, I spent a year substitute teaching, and gained valuable experience in Pre K through fifth grade. During that time, I held long term subbing positions in both kindergarten and fourth grade.
I served as my school's district math contact for a number of years and currently serve as my school's representative of the Teacher's Advisory Council.
This year I am starting a new club called Goal Setters, which I am writing the curriculum for. I will soon be offering this curriculum for sale in my TPT store!

Spender or Saver? An Integer Game
Students will enjoy gaining an understanding of integers while playing this interactive game from Teaching Sunshine. (two - four player game) Students take turns choosing a playing card, deciding whether it should be entered in the debit or credit side of the balance sheet, and maintaining a running balance. Students will hardly notice that they are computing with positive and negative integers while gaining an appreciation for the value of a dollar!

Goal Setters Club Booklet
I wrote this program to teach as an after-school club. I offer the club to twenty fourth and fifth grade students per six-week session. While students are learning the importance and methodology of goal setting, I set the goals that we work on for the first three weeks. One is a fitness goal and the other is an academic goal. Teaching style
I have high expectations for all students. However, I use a very effective classroom management program, titled, "Confidence and Achievement Go Hand in Hand." I wrote this program and will soon be offering it for sale in my TPT Store. Through the use of very simple lessons that are applicable to all grade levels, I build a family of learners within the classroom.
I believe that in order for students to proficiently master a rigorous curriculum, they must be well supported within the classroom. They must be comfortable to take risks and make mistakes on their way to mastery, and they must be confident that the classroom will always be a place of completely positive interactions. I do not tolerate any negative interactions in the classroom. The students learn quickly that they are in a safe learning environment and they thrive academically as well as socially!
I aim to use a high level of constructivist lessons, motivating students to actively reach higher and further to create their own knowledge, as well as support the learning of their classmates.

I am married, have two amazing young adult daughters and live in Edgewater, FL. Besides teaching, I also sell real estate and deliver motivational speeches within the educational and business communities. In my spare time I enjoy relaxing at the beach, kayaking, yoga and hiking when I'm lucky enough to visit the mountains.
