These are perfect for any level student completing word work. These words are grouped into colors - red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and black. The words were pulled from the Dolch word list and the High Frequency Words from Fountas and Pinnell.
Each color set has words levels from pre-primer, primer, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and slightly higher grade levels. The students can start around their level and progress with a new list each week.
I am using these words with my word work center for the Daily
Contractions Sort for 3 different ability levels. Below level has to sort two words such as "He would" to "He'd". On level has to find words such as "He" and "Would" and match it to "He'd". Above level students need to find "he" "would" and find the contraction "he'd" to match. Easy cut and paste for all different abilitiy levels. Meets common core standards. Great way to introduce contractions.
Works well with just about any novel. I ask my students to complete 3 of the different novel projects. It doesn't really make a tic tac toe, but you can use it how you'd like. I have had students complete a column of 3 projects or a row.
