4th grade: Plant and Animal Cells. This lab sheet is to accompany the science lab on plant and animal cells in which students analyze 4 different slides. The sheet is set up for a frog slide, cheek slide, onion slide, and leaf slide (2 plant and 2 animal). If you do not have these cell slides available, you can also edit the word document for the slides that you use to teach with!

Students will learn about physical weathering through this water erosion lab. This lab requires them to measure, graph, and write their reflections.

In this lab, students will discover how friction effects the speed of an object. Students will pair up. While one student runs a specified distance with their shoes, the other student will record. Students will then test their hypothesis without shoes. Students will graph their times and see how friction played a roll in their speed. Students will create a series circuit and record their findings on the lab sheet.

In this lab, students will see first hand the relationship between predator and prey. Students will dissect an owl pellet and complete the accompanying lab sheet. This lab sheet will have them analyze the types of bones found in the pellet so that students can decide what type of animal that owl preys on. The lab will also have them hypothesize where the owl came from based on the findings inside the pellet.

Math word problems that incorporate science concepts.

Addition and Subtraction Math Tasks that include number line, ten frames, doubles +1, and hundreds chart. All align with Common Core State Standards.

Students will create a simple circuit and include a switch. Students will record their discoveries on this lab sheet.

Students will recognize physical weathering as it pertains to rocks in rivers, streams, and oceans. This lab sheet will serve to record their observations.
