I taught third grade for five years in North Carolina. I have been a a reading and math instructional coach for two years, this has resulted in me working across the elementary school grades.
Students glue the column headings into a notebook. Then students cut and glue the cards at the bottom, deciding if the card is an example of a topic or an example of a main idea.
If you like this check out the packet: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Topics-Main-Ideas-and-Details-2412077 which has another version of a topi/main idea sort and many other activities!
I gave students each a bag of 12 skittles to write fractions for and then use to draw pictures of equivalent fractions. This was a fun activity- especially because students got to eat them!

These cards could be used to match partners in your classroom, cut as a quiz-quiz-trade activity, used as a center for Go Fish or Memory etc. The cards consist of 21 pairs of a number in standard form and a number in an abnormal unit form. For example: 5,167 is 51 hundred and 67 tens.

Would be a great when reteaching fractions as well.
This is a set of questions for students to complete before, during, and after listening or reading to Tacky the Penguin. It has questions that align exactly with 3rd grade common core. This activity has students using context clues, explaining illustrations, comparing, and identifying specific details in text to explain events in the story. Tacky the penguin has a high lexile in the 800s.

This is a set of questions to practice fractions that have been learned in class. This set focuses mainly on comparing fractions and equivalence. It was used as a weekly homework but would be great for an independent practice center or for reteaching fractions before the end of the year testing.
This is an activity to go with the background information on page 610 of the Journeys 4th Grade textbook. It covers a variety of standards by using a very short text. There are three versions with various degrees of scaffolding. I have included the Journey's text so that you can see the page in the textbook this task goes with. It would be a great way to assess some standards so that you know where you need to target your instruction for the week.
This is a easy version of the teacher read aloud from first grade lesson 24. It is a short paragraph that is first grade friendly on visiting butterflies at the Bronx zoo. There are two versions of the text, the first being more simple than the second.
First document- very easy text, students cut and glue events in order
Second Document-a more complicated text, students write the events in order themselves
This is a check in for the middle of a fraction unit. It touches on making a fraction, equivalence, and comparison- it is 6 questions.
