Based on a problem solving chart I received at a workshop, I created a journal/notebook style guide to help students fully explain the process of solving an exemplar.
It is Microsoft Word, so you can edit it to fit your students!

I needed to create extra practice for my third grade small groups in understanding how to solve multiplication and division number stories. The sample shows one problem for each level for the divsion number stories.
This is one of the resources I made for small groups. It includes a number line with basic facts and fact extensions and partially blank number grid to complete with some basic addition facts to solve.
