Students will use place value and rounding concepts using playing cards and whiteboards. They will also be practicing communication skills to explain answers during the activity.

There are some geometry and word problem based problems to give them a general idea of working these types of expressions. The product uses Florida Standards based information.

This product is intended to be used as a performance task or assessment piece after students have learned the Pythagorean Theorem. Students are expected to determine which triangle is actually a right triangle by using the Pythagorean Theorem formula. Following their calculations, they have to write an explanation of how they know the triangle they have chosen as a right angle truly is a right triangle using key terms taught during lessons on this concept.
