Authors Write...

This anchor chart can be kept in your students' author folders/writing workshop notebooks as a resource you'll add to all year long. Experience

I have been teaching since 2005. The bulk of my experience has been in kindergarten, but after completing my masters in teaching reading, I have found my home in third grade RLA.

Teaching style

I utilize high energy, high structure, and high expectations so that my students can achieve high levels of success and growth as individuals. My classroom is a little messy, a little noisy, and a LOT engaged. Differentiation through Buerk rubrics, intentional small group instruction, and student-initiated learning experiences are key. I can teach an incredibly engaging whole-group lesson from my classroom stage, but most of the day you can find me in the audience as my students take the lead.
