Students can add this foldable in their interactive notebook page. Students must give an example of a subject and predicate. They must also complete two sentences that are missing either the subject and predicate.
As a teacher, reading is very important to my instruction. Research has proven that children need to be reading at least 30 minutes a day, preferably more! Sometimes my students don’t have adequate resources at their home. I allow them to check out classroom books to take home. Before checking out their book, the students meet with me. We check the condition of the book, and we discuss proper book etiquette. When the students return, they put the book in the check-in bin. At their check-out time
Students sort sentences based on the four types of sentences: declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory. Differentiation is included via visual cues on the sort and simple vs. complex sentences.
I used this worksheet with my first graders when we practiced adding –ING and –ED to words. This a GREAT center activity. It includes different task cards based on root words that don’t change, drop the E, and add the final consonant. Colored borders indicate the different task cards.
Green – don’t change
Red – drop the E
Purple – double the consonant
Blue – mixture of root words
Parent Teacher Conferences are integral part of the teaching life. I personally use these letters/worksheets to plan my parent teacher conferences. I have found that giving the students and parents a chance to voice their thoughts/opinions opens positive communication. These worksheets help establish that communication. This bundle includes: sign-up sheets, confirmation sheets, a survey to send home prior to conferences, sheets that guide the conversation of the conferences, and a home/school co
This pack includes two versions of an interactive journal foldable. In one version, the examples and components of first, second, and third person are already given, and in the other version, the students have to write in the examples/components. Each foldable includes visuals to help the students remember the different points of view. There are two cut and paste assessments. In one assessment, the students cut and paste the components of first, second, and third person. In the other assessment,
Students cut, glue, and sort sentences based on the 4 types: declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative. Differentiation is included in visuals reminders and simple vs. complex sentences. On the worksheets students are given examples of sentences, and students must identify the type of sentences. Students are also asked to create their own sentences based on the given type.
Looking for a center or game that will increase your students' exposure to words that use the all, oll, and ull spelling pattern? Do you want to engage your students in a fun activity? In this center activity, students will match a spelling pattern with a picture. Once they have a match they will then write the word on a recording sheet. Words used: fall, roll, pull, bull, doll, small, wall, troll, dull, skull, toll, stall, ball, poll, hull, full, scroll, tall
This set comes with four different versions of the menu board. There are always two different edits of each version - one with a space for students to list their words and one with just the Tic-Tac-Toe board. This spelling menu board can be used for homework and word work stations. Options on the board include but are not limited to: typing words, drawing words in pictures, writing words in songs and stories, writing words in multiple ways, and creating a crossword puzzle.
This bundle is packed with activities for your students. Each plural noun rule is/will be addressed: add s, add es, consonant y, and vowel y. There are review pages included. Students identify the words what follow the nouns, write the nouns in isolation, write them in sentences, and identify the nouns in sentences. There is an interactive notebook page for the rules too.
This packet has four sorts – two are cut and paste and two are sort and write. These sorts can be used in Word Work Stations and/or assessments. I used these with my first graders as an end of our long vowel unit as an assessment. My little kiddos LOVE cutting and pasting! It's a fun way to improve their fine motor skills.

Nouns are some of my favorite things to teach. I have modeled this bundle after activities I use in my classroom. This bundle includes two interactive journals - one for nouns and another for proper/common nouns. It includes two versions of a noun game my students play in small groups. Again, one for nouns and one for proper/common nouns. It also includes two noun identification worksheets. More is coming to this bundle in the near future.
This chart is based off the Daily Five Word Collector. My students keep it in their writing journals, and we record our sight words on it. It's individualized so my students write words that they have difficulty spelling on it as well. They take it everywhere they go during Daily Five stations so they always have it with them.
This product contains sound cards: consonants, short vowels, long vowels, word families, diphthongs, digraphs, and blends. If needed, there are blank cards.

I use this template with my reading groups to hold me accountable as a teacher. It also keeps me organized when I meet with the students. I have folders on each group, and I keep this template in the folders. When I meet with the groups, I open my folder to this page. Immediately, I can see what we accomplished the last time we met, and how we can move forward as a group. At the end of each session, I record the group’s activity. I love the comment section because I can add group notes and not
This reading log includes 75, 65, and 60 minute per week requirements. My school uses RAZ Kids, and so I have a clause in the directions requiring the students to read a portion of their minutes on the RAZ Kids website. For those who do not need a RAZ Kids section, I have edited a version with the RAZ Kids clause. It also includes a space for student to recorder their reading levels.
