My students really struggled with two-step word problems. I came up with this 15-page resource to guide them through the steps of breaking down the problem into manageable pieces. The students begin by filling out, "What the answer looks like" using their words. For example, they would write, "Ducks in the pond + new ducks - scared ducks = total ducks left in the pond." Learning multiplication facts is so important -- but that doesn't mean it can't be fun! Each maze has the multiples of 3, 4, 5, or 6. Students follow the multiples to get through the maze. The multiples are not in numerical order to help the students gain automaticity with the multiples, rather than merely skip-counting.
