Two activities, designed for 7th-8th grade PLTW class to help students practice with gear ratios. In Part 1 students build example gear systems and g

Want a timer in your power point? I love using power point in my class, but switching applications to a timer, or worse to the document camera to show a physical timer is a royal pain - so I made these. Here are timers for 10,9,8,7,6, and 5 minutes! Instructions for how to embed the timer in other slides are included, or just put the whole slide into the power point where you want a timer. Each timer is a stack of curve-cornered rectangles, which disappear to show how much time is left. The

• Card sorts are great. Pretty card sorts are awesome. They engage students and convey concepts in a multisensory way… but making them is torture. Personally I really hate messy cards, but can’t take the time to trim them neatly. • This should make it less painful. These grids are designed for printing on letter paper. Additional biographical information

My name is James Noble, I am a first year teacher building tools for myself and sharing them. I strongly believe in the importance of sharing as much as possible, with as many people as possible - we are all on the same team. I also believe that all materials should be maximally editable, because every class and every teacher deserves nothing less than the best possible fit.
