Learners are introduced to the differences between Area and Perimeter (as applied in real life), and are given guidelines on how to distinguish between the two. This product is also good as a review. Students DO NOT perform calculations. Instead, th

Experience

I have been teaching for 20 years now. Teaching has taken me around the globe. I completed my studies in Canada and taught there many years before moving to Europe. I am currently teaching overseas. The experience is wonderful. But, I do miss home and hope to go back soon.

Teaching style

My classroom is a busy place, with texture and color all around. I draw on all sorts of inspiration from playing with food, to songs, chants, games, and construction. I love task cards, literacy, math games and bulletin boards and throw giant pillows on the carpet for quiet reading time. I believe children should be actively engaged and indulge in "experiencing" life around them, and I'm a firm believer in cooperative learning.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have presented at conferences for ESL and Classroom Management Strategies.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature.
