About the store
Entering my 13th year of teaching, I still love this profession as much as I did in my first! I have taught a number of grade levels, including 4th, 5th, and 6th. On a related note, I have also been a Special Education teacher, focusing on both students receiving inclusion and pull-out services. Students in my classes also receive gifted and talented instruction, thus I have tailored the majority of my work to include all ability levels.

This is a fun activity, designed to open discussion between the class. Students generate both truths and lies about themselves, and then take turns guessing if the information about their peers is authentic. This a a perfect activity for the first day or week of school, and really helps everybody learn more about each other, while having fun and laughing at the same time! Thanks for choosing this item, and if you like it, please check out some other products in my store. I feature items fo

Here's a St. Patrick's Day gift that your students will love: A free homework pass! I used this either as a reward or class gift, and the students never complained. You can modify this pass for a specific subject/class, though I do recommend that you copy it on green paper (if available). Thanks for viewing this document; feel free to check out the others I have listed on TPT. If interested in something you don't see, please contact me: tcammisa@gmail.com Tim Cammisa

Student Schedule for Beginning of school year

At the beginning of every year, I like to give each student and parent a copy of the weekly schedule. Some schedules are tougher for students than others, being that some years we have had 6 versus 5 days. This is a schedule that I have used because it is "kid-friendly" and clearly shows what class the students are to be in at any given time. I currently have this schedule listed with "Periods" versus specific classes, but that can be easily changed to reflect your class(es). The schedule is

This document features a one page quick glance at the student MATH book. This is a great activity/lesson for the first day or week of school, while introducing the Math text as a resource to the students. The worksheet I created is specific for my text, but can be easily adapted and varied based on the text you are utilizing in class. Feel free to adapt it for another text that you would like to use, such as Social Studies, Science, or a Reading basal. I appreciate the download; feel free to

This document features a homework reward for students that win the class Valentine's Day Box contest. Students have always been excited to have contests, thus we would create categories as a class that the students could enter. The students would bring their boxes on Valentine's Day, and they would be judged (by myself, the students, another colleague, etc.). The winners in each category would receive one of these homework coupons. This is a fun contest, and the students always enjoyed parti

Business Letter Scoring Guide for Language Arts

This product is a one page document that has a Scoring Guide for a Business Letter. The beauty of this is that if instructed correctly, everything the students need is listed on the document and they are simply following set criteria. I would set this Scoring Guide in the 3rd - 6th grade range, with you being able to adapt it based on the group of students. Included on this Scoring Guide is a list of questions for a peer to ask when editing the business letter rough draft. There is also a po

On this worksheet, students are first asked generally about Veteran's Day, then given three QR codes that have great websites to explore in order to learn more about Veteran's Day. After the exploration, additional focused questions are asked, including some summarizing everything learned. Aside from Veteran's Day, World War I is also related to the document, and one question connects the two topics. This document can be given to the students independently or in groups, and I typically allow

Spelling Enrichment

If you'd like to push your high-end achievers, this is for you! When teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grade, Spelling is a subject that is great to differentiate. One way to do that for me is by assigning additional words from the list for certain students; I also would allow others to opt-in to this program. The students would be assessed on their other list, too, but these words would be added at the conclusion and scored as enrichment (for rewards, bonus, etc.). If a student wanted to opt-

Reading Organizer for Fantasy Book

In my classroom, students are required to read a minimum of one book per month for homework. While reading, I provide this organizer to assist by guiding their reading and ensuring comprehension. This organizer can be revised for other genres, though I have all if any other ones are desired. At the beginning of the year, the students and I discussed the genre list, and a lot of students looked forward to January (when I required the genre of fantasy). To start utilizing this organizer, I ma

This document is a one page scoring guide to use as an end of lesson/unit assessment when instructing the students on a given region of the United States. This lesson can be integrated into Language Arts (due to presentation factors and lines/stanzas) and is a fun way to assess the students' knowledge of a learned section. After finishing a set region of the United States, I would have the students create a song that highlights the most important parts of that region (including Culture, Governm

This is a free homework pass that is given on the first day or within the first week of school. It's a great gift to give after an ice breaker or opening activity once your back to school to reward students for their initial participation. By giving students this reward, it lets them know immediately that you do care about them, and that they will have a break at some point, though when giving it, I always stress that homework is something that is essential and this gives them a break. This document is the requirement page I go over with students before their first Weekly Journal. The journal topics are obviously given weekly, but I refer to this throughout the entire year. I also go over this with parents/guardians @ Meet the Teacher Night. To use this document, I ensure that one is glued into every student's journal, then go over the page as a class at the beginning of the year. After a brief discussion, the students sign their copy, and I come around and sign each. Jou

This is an extremely user-friendly blank plan book page! After teaching for around five years, I stopped buying the traditional lesson plan books and set about to create my own document. You can vary this page to your own schedule, adding subjects and additional rows as needed. This is a daily lesson plan document, which helps you to focus on the individual lessons you have planned for the day. My advice is to print approximately 20 pages at a time, and keep them in a 3-ring binder. Take tho
