This is a review game of Jeopardy for Geometry class using interior and exterior angles. Category one is interior angles where they will use the formula to find the sum of the measures of interior angles of a polygon and use that number to solve for a value of x and then for the measures of each angle. Category 2 is the same but solving for the measures of exterior angles. Category 3 and 4 are finding the measure of each interior and then exterior angle of regular figures. Category 5 is a re
This is an interactive whiteboard jeopardy game with categories of solving absolute value equations, solving inequalities, solving equations, vocabulary words, and a wild card which has material from all of the above. It is in the form of a PowerPoint that then works as the Jeopardy game.
This is a Jeopardy game made for an Algebra I class. It contains perfect squares, equations and inequalities, mixed math, geometry, and vocabulary categories
Statistics Project Launching Gummy Bears in Space.
Factorial Design and Interaction. Controlling Variables.
This allows the students to see the importance of the different variables, controlling variables, random samples/selection, etc.
This is an end of the year geometry RAFT project. If you are not familiar with RAFT-R-the role the student is taking on, A-the audience they are speaking to, F-the format of the product they are creating, T-the topic of which they are doing this on.
This is a very creative way to incorporate geometry concepts you have learned throughout the year. You could edit or change things I have made to better fit your needs. You could require them to do more than one of these projects, etc. The choic
This is an Algebra Based Performance Task.
Role: Who you are pretending to be
Audience: Who you are speaking to/addressing
Format: Finished product/what you create
Topic: What you are talking about
This is an activity in which students go around the classroom and solve Algebra I problems. At each question their response will ask them to pick up an item and then dress up one team mate in these items. I designed the lesson around a willing teacher in my building who is Mr. Heflin. He dressed up in the proper answers for me and I used these on the bulletin board with the students answers for them to compare and see if they were correct. It took a lot of work but the students enjoyed the a
Student work in partners (you can divide how you best see fit). They identify themselves as either partner A or partner B. They then take turns solving problems. While partner A is working out the problem partner B is checking the work and coaching them along if they need help or make a mistake. When complete they trade the paper and in doing so trade tasks, with partner B now solving the problem and partner A coaching and checking the work.
Partners work well if you have one who is just a
Students will work as individuals, pairs, or groups to solve quadratic equation problems. They can use a variety of methods to solve the problems. Students will show their work on the recording sheet. Students can then check their answers using the QR reader codes.
This is an activities where the students will move around the room answering questions about mean, median, mode and range. Finding the answer to the question will then direct them to head to the next question and if they complete them all correctly they will walk through all of the questions and end back up where they started.
This is a handout for placing points and graphing linear equations using x y coordinate pegboards in class. Must have pegboards to really make the activity hands on and interactive.
Students will solve linear inequalities on the recording sheet provided. You can cut and post the questions around the classroom and have the students work as an individual, pairs, or groups to solve the problems. There are problems in which they divide or multiply by a negative. Graphing the answers is NOT built into the QR reader codes, but could be an extension of the activity that you add. I have my students graph them, but that is not on the code or on the key.
This activity will allow students to solve two step equations and check their work using a QR Reader code. This activity can be displayed around the classroom and have the students work as individuals or pairs to complete on the student recording sheet showing their steps.
This is a Geometry RAFT. RAFT stands for role, audience, format, and topic. The students are able to chose a task or multiple tasks from the raft choices provided. They will pretend to be whomever is saying in the ROLE category, audience is who they are then speaking it. Format is the type of project you will have them complete. Topic is what you want accomplished.
This is a performance task for students to design and create a floor plan for a model home they would like to design. This tasks focuses on the concepts of scale factor.
This is a cumulative test used for the beginning chapters of Algebra II for our area. It contains the vertical line test, evaluating functions, writing linear equations including slope, point slope, standard form, parallel and perpendicular, etc.
This is an assessment on plotting scatter plots, determining correlation, finding the line of best fit, writing the equation of the line of best fit, and using the line of best fit to make a prediction.
