How to create one pagers + tips & tricks!

Questions to guide your students through a reflection of the semester for the class they have with you, school overall, and life outside the classroom. For each, it asks for 3 things they want to improve on, 2 things they're proud of, and 1 end goal they have for the year. I'll be collecting these and then returning them to students at the start of the next semester as a reminder of their goals. Inspired by @msdavison_ !

Help your students be organized by consistently tracking and preparing for their personal statements and resumes. This doc is built from a compilation of sources to provide students with a breadth of topics to be able to include.

This is a master doc for students to research universities they're interested in. It takes into consideration everything from the admissions process to alumni outlook and concludes with students reflecting on the reasons they can and cannot see themselves attending here. I attach this doc as an assignment on Google Classroom, so that each student can edit directly. I also have my students add the Doc to a folder on their Google Drive labeled "College" where they store all things college related

Have students keep a running list of feelings, actions, sayings, and thoughts for each historical figure and others affecting them. This will help them understand each figure on a deeper level by having them select the most significant info, provide an efficient study tool, and help them on exams by making educated guesses based on their deep understanding of historical figures. VST is a tool that breaks down prompts to ensure students are answering the question that the prompt is asking. It then further acts as a tool for students to check that the content they're including is relevant to the prompt. Various history examples are included from my IB History class. A fun way to have your students review for a unit test or final by encouraging them to critically select the most significant terms and concepts. I have my students complete this in groups and then after collecting all of the responses, I turn it into a Google Forms. Students then vote for the MOST significant of all the provided terms/concepts for each letter.
