This is a sample of my weekly error analysis spelling tests for McGraw Hill Wonders 2nd Grade. The Start Smart spelling test is based on a review of high frequency words. I would suggest that you model and complete the first two spelling choices with the kids. Then they can complete the remainder on their own. Dictation: I usually choose a sentence from the story and have the kids write it correctly. Students will write their own sentence using a specific spelling or high frequency word.

These math vocabulary cards were originally created for the Pearson EnVision Math Series, Grade 1. Print on white cardstock and cut apart. They are 7¼ by 2¼ inches when cut. I also have the vocabulary cards in a center where the kids match the picture to the vocabulary word.

Here’s a quick and easy checklist to monitor daily expected behaviors. If a student chooses to make a poor choice, then he/she will get the Behavior Checklist and bring it to you, placing the responsibility on them. This is one of my kids’ favorite activities. Each student will need a sentence strip. I always try to use the heavier weight sentence strips, or cut your own from card stock. The students write one number on each ghost/leaf (1-10). You can have them write even numbers in one color and odd numbers in another. Then they color the ghosts and/or leaves. Have You Been Spotted With Good Character? Not sure! Kids can look at their personal poster and see if they have followed those special monthly character "rules". My kids loved keeping this in their notebooks. When it came time to select a student of the month, we would take out the posters and circle, cooperatively, those rules that were followed. If the student was able to circle all under the one trait, their name went into a hat. Their classmates had to agree!! Sept. Responsibility Oct. P

ME Poster Instructions. Using 12x18 cardstock, draw the letters ME to fill the page. See attached PDF. Cut out the shaded areas. I always have the ME poster cut and ready to go. Just fold it in half and attach the rubric to go home. These are great for display and the kids love telling the rest of the class about their posters.

This form will give you a comprehensive overview of each student. It really helps at the beginning of the school year. I generally attach an envelope to keep the information secure between home and school. You’ll find that parents like this confidentiality and open up about their kids. Start the year out with open, but confidential communication.

This student information sheet can be used at Meet the Teacher. You'll have all the student information ready to go. Just think, the first day of school and you'll know how your students come to school and go home from school. Anyone missing that first day, just send the form home and hope to get it back the next day. .
