Engineer, Scientist, Mathematician - Formative Assessment
This very simple handout makes a great formative assessment for K-5. I give it before and after teaching my Nature of Science Unit every year to see what my students have learned about the job of an engineer, scientist, and mathematician.
Tell your students to draw an engineer/scientist/mathematician at work, and write one sentence to describe the picture. You will be amazed at all you can learn from this simple task!
