Gravity Foldable (Astronomy)

This product allows students to relate the role of Newton’s law of universal gravitation to the motion of the planets around the Sun and to the motion of natural and artificial satellites around the planets. This foldable puts all of these concepts in one place. Can be used as scaffold notes and organizes students thoughts.

Death of a Star Comparison Chart and Venn Diagram

Students will differentiate among the end states of stars, including white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes. This product allows students to understand the differences between white dwarfs, black holes, and neutron stars. My students like this item's format because it is not intimidating and it can be used a quick reference page. Students will check all of the boxes that describes each object and then complete the 3- way venn diagram (using the corresponding numbers). Great way to organize
Preview of Planet Pockets

Planet Pockets

This resources allows students to compare planets based on size, composition, atmosphere, natural satellites, geological activity, orbital periods, and rotational periods. Students will have to sort the typed descriptions into the proper pocket. Students may conduct research and I would recommend that they write the names of the planets on the back of the cards. Scaffold notes that allow students to retain the information as they research each planet. Students will also be responsible for writin
Preview of Photosynthesis Poster

Photosynthesis Poster

Students will create a poster related to photosynthesis. Each student will select a picture and explain how it is related to photosynthesis. Students are required to explain the process of photosynthesis, the importance of photosynthesis, what they have learned about photosynthesis, the type of energy conversions, and how photosynthesis is related to the real world. My students enjoyed this poster and it was a great formative assessment. Students are expected to be creative and elaborate. Giving
Preview of Apparent Motion of Constellations Activity

Apparent Motion of Constellations Activity

Students will have to extrapolate the future position of four given constellations after a certain period of time. The activity has the explanation of how to calculate apparent motion. The pictures do not have to be precise, but this activity just helps students to better understand how constellations appear to move in the night sky. The apparent motion of objects occurs at a rate of 15 degrees per hour, which is the rate that earth rotates. One complete rotation is 360 degrees and there are 24
Preview of Succession Poster

Succession Poster

Students will create a poster related to succession. Each student will select a picture and explain how it is related to succession, which type of succession is occurring, the importance of succession, and the purpose of a climax community. Students must include and/or define at least 5 key vocabulary words such as equilibrium, pioneer species, disturbance, lichens, moss, primary succession, secondary succession, climax community, species, and biodiversity. My students enjoyed this poster and i

Fusion and Fission Anticipation Guide

What is the difference between fusion and fission? Student will have to determine which statement they agree or disagree with. Students will circle their choice before and after reading an online article from Duke Energy. I instruct my students use marker to highlight or ink pens. This interactive activity can be used as a group discussion, pre assessment, or formative assessment . https://nuclear.duke-energy.com/2013/01/30/fission-vs-fusion-whats-the-difference

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching middle school science for approximately 16 years. I have three science certifications life science 8-12, science 4-8, and science 7-12.

Teaching style

Students have various ways of learning and I try to cater to the needs of all of my students. I try to provide my students with various visuals. To explain, visuals play a huge factor in many abstract concepts and students need to see what is perceived to be the unknown. Meeting the students halfway creates significant gains in their level of comprehension.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been a "Distinguished Teacher" since 2012 Successful "ACE" teacher for 4 years and State of Texas Exemplary Teacher.

My own education history
